Hand-turned ash wood center
Natural wood bowl with yakisugui finish
This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by charring it, burning it, brushing it, washing it and finally hydrating it with oil. Cracks may appear due to the fire, but they are stabilized so they will not get worse.
Completely burned, it is not the first time nor will it be the last that I make this piece, because from my personal experience, it is a piece that people like, and therefore, it sells.
Irregular edge, perhaps this is what makes it so unique
-----------
My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The finish with coconut oil and beeswax is completely suitable for food use, if applicable. Hand wash and dry, they need to be moisturized from time to time with coconut oil.
Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
Natural finish with coconut oil and beeswax
Extra soft touch finish
