Natural wood bowl with yakisugui finish

This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by carbonizing it, burning it, brushing it, burning it again and finally hydrating it with oil.

With more rectilinear and sharp shapes, I love the outer texture of the edge, when burning the wood the texture is accentuated and looks incredible.

My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The finish with mineral oil and beeswax is completely suitable for food use, if applicable. Hand wash and dry, they must be moisturized from time to time with oil.

Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
