This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by carbonizing it, burning it, brushing it, burning it again and finally hydrating it with oil.

Beautiful centerpiece that stands on one foot to elevate objects and give them the importance they deserve.

Important, the cracks are stabilized and will never get worse. It can be used without any problem and can be washed, just dry it with a cloth afterwards, like any other piece.

My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The mineral oil and beeswax finish is completely suitable for food use, if applicable. Hand wash and dry, they need to be moisturized from time to time with oil.

Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
