This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by charring it, burning it, brushing it, washing it and finally hydrating it with oil. Cracks may appear due to the fire, but they are stabilized so they will not get worse.

Hand carved center, and this piece opens a mini collection of pieces created and carved by hand. Piece for me, especially beautiful, sharp, soft and delicate lines that contrast with the burnt, the irregular edge and the black color. It is impressive.

My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The finish with coconut oil and beeswax is completely suitable for food use, if applicable. Hand wash and dry, they need to be moisturized from time to time with coconut oil.

Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
