Natural wood bowl with yakisugui finish with coconut oil and beeswax

This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by charring it, burning it, brushing it, washing it and finally hydrating it with oil. Cracks may appear due to the fire, but they are stabilized so they will never get worse.

I like black, it's elegant and matches almost any room and decor. Plus, the fire gives it an incredible texture. I could describe it to you, but believe me, no matter how much I tell you, it's not even close to the same as touching it with your own hands.

My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The coconut oil and beeswax finish is completely suitable for food use, if applicable. Hand wash and dry, they need to be moisturized from time to time with coconut oil.

Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
