Hand-turned Sapeli wood bowl

Natural wood bowl or centerpiece with yakisugui finish

This is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by charring it, burning it, brushing it, burning it again and finally hydrating it with oil. Due to the fire, it may crack, although these are stabilized and will not go any further.

Starting from the same concept as #18, but in this case using curved lines. The rounded base gives way to an outline that narrows as it reaches the top edge.

My pieces are for food, display or decoration purposes . The finish (natural oil) is completely suitable for food use. If it is going to be used continuously, remember that it is good to hydrate the piece from time to time. If it is for display, it is not necessary.

Each piece sits proudly on the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.

Finished with multiple layers of pure Tung oil and micro sanding, smooth touch
