03. LA CIGARRA Y LA HORMIGA

03. THE CICADA AND THE ANT

The cicada and the Ant
“This is not the original story,
This is the real story”

Look,

The real story
The original
Aesop's
You've heard it
Many times
To the point of exhaustion
So why repeat it
Something we already know

I,
I'm going to tell you another one
And it may,
That it's not just a fable
A tale
Or a story
It may be as real
As life itself

And I recommend that you read it
And I don't like to recommend

And the fable goes like this…

Once upon a time
A cicada was lying
In the shade of a good tree
There she spent the hours
There she spent the days
Slouching
Almost fed up with life
As some would say

Well,

This cicada,
Sang
Drank
And sometimes,
With the few alms
That good people gave her
She ate

Added,
To a small payment
That the neighbors gave her
A minimum vital income
Just enough to live poorly,
Just enough to not look for a future
Poor cicada they said

But the cicada
She managed,
What else?
If tomorrow came

Meanwhile,
Her neighbor
The ant
Insatiable
She ran and ran
Day after day
She saved food
She collected supplies
And looked for materials
She only thought about the winter
That awaited them

Hard and cold
Of the worst,
They said it would be
A great polar wave

The ant,
Frightened
She thought of nothing else
Night and day,
She didn't stop

She came home
Exhausted
Even grumpy
But winter
And that great polar wave lurked
For her
It was still little
What she had already saved
And stored
There were provisions for almost 2 years

- That's enough,
It's enough for the season
They told her
But the ant seemed not to listen
She was blinded
The great polar wave lurked

Day after day,
The insatiable ant
Was spending the day away from home
He barely came home,
To put his daughter to bed
He hardly gave her a kiss
And he didn't tell her this fable
How inconsiderate
The ant was so tired
That he accumulated

The next day,

Like every morning,
The ant went out
To spend his day
And there I followed the cicada, lounging

He seemed to enjoy
Daily life
He cared little about winter,
And the provisions
And the food
If perhaps tomorrow
Wouldn't come
Carpe diem,
He carried it on his tattooed paw

The sun illuminated his face,
He had tanned skin
And a shine in his hair
And a color in his eyes
That made others envious

And the cicada,
She said
To herself
What a good life
You're having sister

And so the days passed,

And winter came,
As expected

And suddenly a downpour fell
A freezing wind rose
It shook the trees
As if they were wheat fields

The cicada,
In one of those gusts,
Without a home and without shelter
Flew away

There wasn't much resistance,
She simply accepted it
It is not known how far she went,
But in the area
She was never seen

Oh friend,
The good life
In one stroke it ended

And the ant,
There she was
Pick and shovel
And on the way home
She was surprised
When winter appeared

And she saw,
To her left
A flying cicada

The ant,
Fought,
And fought
And grabbed the branch of a bush
She was very close to home
Hold on
You're almost there,
She said to herself
A little more

Suddenly she heard a roar
A motor,
And a person approached
Well covered
With strong gloves,
Safety boots
Helmets for the noise
And good glasses
With tinted lenses
And on her jacket
A text was embroidered
“Aguado Gardens,
Prepare the garden for summer”

She imagined her end,
It was coming
She chewed it
And it was hard,
Harder than steel
And colder,
Also

No please!
With all that I've worked!
The ant screamed

But that guy
Couldn't hear her
Besides,
Ants don't talk
But since I'm telling you this story,
I can do
Whatever I think is appropriate

And our friend the ant
Spoke
But they didn't listen

In any case,

A plastic tube,
Black
Approached the ant,
Just a few centimeters away,

The click of a trigger was heard

And a gust of wind was generated
Icy wind
Hurricane
And finally
The ant flew

Some say,
That she met the cicada
We can't know,
It's just gossip,
And about the cicada and the ant
The people
Never learned

THE END

Well,

This fable has a moral
But you know,
I won't be the one to tell you

Sometimes,

You have to leave things up in the air
Thinking about it
It doesn't hurt anyone
At least,
Until now
And let it be known

In any case,

Somewhere around there they say,
That you have to enjoy life
Like a cicada
Of course
I won't be the one to say otherwise
Carpe diem
As the cicada had tattooed

Somewhere around there they say,
That you have to be foresighted
Organize
Foresee
And think about the future
Of course
Because then the lean cows come

I also know people,
Who have died on mattresses 1 meter thick
And not because of the amount of memory foam
But because of the wads of bills
That they kept inside

That's right

But I won't be the one,
Who tells you what you have to do
Of course not,
You already know

Let each man
Hold his candle
As they also say out there

But what I am going to tell you,
And let me tell you
Because it's the only true thing
Of this whole fable
Story
Or tale

And it's that at any moment,
They bring us a black tube
They pull a trigger
A freezing, hurricane-force wind is generated
And we fly

Like a foresighted ant
And like a lively cicada

Well, that's it

Aiii if that far-sighted ant,
Would have enjoyed
The small pleasures of life
Like this beauty for example,
And if you are reading this,
Perhaps,
You still can

Well, that

THE CICADA AND THE ANT
“This is not the original story,
This is the real story”

This fable,
It is written by Aquiles Gutiérrez
And if you like it
You can share it,
Of course
And you can also read some more

Apart from seeing,
Other things I do
While I think about these stories
